Motorball 20th Anniversary!

Posted in Events

MotorBall celebrates it’s 20th anniversary with a weekend of events scheduled to coincide with Motor City Pride weekend in and around Downtown Detroit.

MotorBall gets its roots as a circuit party in the mid 90’s when it was originally named “Gear Party”.  It was created to raise awareness and funding for HIV/AIDS organizations.   It became known as “MotorBall” and has successfully raised over $200,000 dollars for HIV/AIDS programming in Metro Detroit.  Its series, or ‘circuit’, of multi-day parties created a community for friendship & dancing as well as highlighted amazing DJs, performers, and venues.

MotorBall is proud to be back after an 11 year hiatus to celebrate its 20th anniversary.   MotorBall weekend consists of the following events:

Friday, June 6th, 9pm – 2am: Opening Party at Menjos. Menjos, which is located in Metro Detroit’s Palmer Park, the former Gayborhood of our region and one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in the City of Detroit.  Never a cover and free, secured, well-lit parking.

Saturday, June 7th, 9pm – 4am: MotorBall 2014

After Motor City Pride, MotorBall 2014 kicks off at St Andrews Hall.  From 9pm until 4am, 4 DJs take over both levels of St Andrews Hall for an amazing mix of House, EDM, Tribal and more.

Sunday, June 8th, Noon-6pm: Menjos and MotorBall present “Sunday Tea Dance on the Riverfront”
