FHM kicks off our new monthly party at Menjos with a stunning booking! We’ve wanted to bring Chrissy to Detroit for a long time and it’s finally happening!

Chrissy is a genre-bending DJ/producer with productions on esteemed labels like File Under Disco, Tugboat Edits, Hypercolour, Classic, and on his weekly “Year Of Edits” blog. He co-runs The Nite Owl Diner label with Alex Burkat, and is a resident DJ at the legendary Chicago nightclub SmartBar.

Chrissy is also a well-regarded dance music historian—he ran the popular “My Year of Mixtapes” blog, where he posted an original genre-focused DJ mix every week for a year. He also conducted interviews and wrote liner notes for the recent “Hardcore Traxx: Dance Mania Records 1986-1997″ compilation for Strut Records.

In his previous incarnation as Chrissy Murderbot, he helped introduce the world to footwork music through his DJ gigs and releases on Planet Mu. He organized the first international tour of footwork dancers, and still runs the successful juke/footwork label Loose Squares.

“He provides a unique perspective as one of the earliest people to connect the dots, laying the groundwork for the explosion of interest in juke and footwork by the UK bass community and beyond.” — Resident Advisor

As always, the FHM residents Gin & Tronic  will provide the dance floor backbone to what promises to be a stunning dance party!
